The Top 10 Reasons Students Cannot Cite or Rely On Wikipedia

  1. Don't rely on one source
  2. Unknown authors
  3. Information is most likely biased.
  4. Wikipedia editing team might have their own agendas in deciding what to keep and what to eliminate.
  5. Some malicious entries go uncorrected for months
  6. The editing team is not diverse enough
  7. The number of active Wikipedia editors stopped growing
  8. It's harder now for occasional contributors to participate due to strict "deletion" policy
  9. Accurate contributors can be silenced
  10. It say so on Wikipedia.  "We do not expect you to trust us" and “Users should be aware that not all articles are of encyclopedic quality from the start: they may contain false or debatable information.”
